2001 Highlights (Freshman):
-16th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the shot put with a throw of 58'08.50" and 17th in the discus with a throw of 171'10".
-7th at the Pac 10 Conference Championships with a throw of 190'10". Also placed 4th in the shot put with at throw of 18.61m (61'03.50") and 2nd in the discus with a throw of 57.96m (190'02").
-9th at the NCAA Indoor Championships in the shot put with a throw of 18.61m (61'00.75").
-3rd at the Mountain Pacific Conference Championships with a throw of 19.09m. Also placed 1st in the shot put with at throw of 18.61m.

2000 Highlights (Redshirt):
-9th at the World Junior Championships in the discus with a throw of 169'04". Also qualified for the meet in the shot put.
-1st at the USATF Junior Championships in the shot put with a throw of 58'08.50" and discus with a throw of 189'08".

High School Highlights:
-Graduated from El Capitan High School in Lakeside, California where he lettered four years in track and two years in football. He had personal bests of 199'09" in the discus and 64'08.00". He was a Track and Field News All-American and placed finished third at the Golden West Invitational in the discus his senior year.
