Up to date rankings now online

After much delay there have been many updates to the site this week. All the rankings from the past few months are now online. All athlete bios are now up to date. Lastly, the records section has been updated to include this season's 11 new state records. I hope to get more results from the last few months put online this week.

Godin and Reynolds sets new bests to win state championships

Seniors Dan Godin (Bishop Hendricken, Warwick, RI) and Kelly Reynolds (Toll Gate, Warwick, RI) both set new personal bests to win this year's Rhode Island State Championships. Godin won the boy's competition with a throw of 218'09" while Reynolds won the girl's competition with a throw of 179'05".

Callan takes National lead, Owens and Beach win WA State titles

Senior Kristen Callan (Monroe-Woodbury, Central Valley, NY) passed Marie Stringer to become the national leader in the women's hammer this weekend. She set a new personal best and New York state record of 182'04".

In Washington, Nick Owens (Shelton, WA) and Jessica Beach (Capital,Olympia, WA) both won their events at the third annual Washington State High School Hammer Championships. This year the event was held in Pullman, Washington and thirty athletes participated in the event. Owen's winning mark of 230'00" was a new meet record for the event. Beach won with a throw of 141'01".

Godin and Callan improve marks over weekend

Dan Godin (Bishop Hendricken, Warwick, RI) improved his season best by nearly ten feet last week as he threw 211'05". Godin also won the Warwick Coaches Invitational with a throw of 206'00" on Sunday.

Kristen Callan (Monroe-Woodbury, Central Valley, NY) moved even closer to national-leader Marie Stringer with he throw of 177'04". Stringer leads the nation with her throw of 179'06"

Big marks by Owens, Callan, and Dufresne

Nick Owens (Shelton, WA) won this year's Tri-Cities hammer competition with a new personal best of 231'11". That mark ranks fifth on the all-time high school rankings. Many others also had equally impressive marks over the weekend. On the east coast, Kristen Callan (Monroe-Woodbury, Central Valley, NY) set a new New York state record and moved to ninth best all-time with her mark of 175'06". Danielle Dufresne (Toll Gate, Warwick, RI) moved to tenth best all-time with her throw of 175'00" over the weekend. To view the updated and expanded record section, click the link in the menu above. Outdoor Season Underway

The Knights of Columbus relays took place in Rhode Island on Saturday. Dan Godin (Bishop Hendricken, Warwick, RI) won the boy's competition with his throw of 202'10". The girl's competition was very close. Danielle Dufresne (Toll Gate, Warwick, RI) threw 164'09" to beat out teammate Kelly Reynolds by two inches to win.

2003 Indoor Season Concludes
