First ever hammer competition at the Junior Olympics National Championships
Eugene, Oregon played host to the Junior Olympics National Championships this past weekend. This was the first time the event ever held the hammer throw as an event. While the hammer was only and exhibition event this season, it has taken a great amount of work by Harold Connolly and others to get the hammer added as an event at the meet. Several great performances were turned in. Perhaps the best personal bests were Buck Sullivan (Vacaville, CA) and Gabriella Midles (Camas, WA). Both placed second in their respective age groups, but set personal bests in tough competition. Click below for results and a few photos.
