Record performance was at the St. Anthony's Weight Throw Invitational (indoor commpetition) at Farmingdale High School, Farmingdale, NY. The old record was held by Manny Silverio (North Bergen High School, NJ) at 69'01.00" from 1974. !=Wes Wright's throw exceeds the existing national freshman record. However, it is not a new record as the competition was an individual event meet and did not meet the requirements of a full event track & field meet. He does, however, own the national freshman record with an official throw of 63'06.25" at Clemson University on Sunday January 23. The previous record was set by Leif Arrhenius (Lakeridge Junior High School, Lakeridge, UT) in 2001 with a throw of 55'01.00". Additions, updates, or corrections would be appreciated.
