Capital City Track and Field Fest

Monday, 04 August 2008 Iowa State bound Zack Richards (Monroe, WA) improved his personal best in his final competition of the season with a throw of 224'04" to win this year's Capital City Track and Field Festival. Richards also won the open hammer competition with a throw of 182'02" to set a new personal best with the 16-pound hammer.

Empire State Games (NY)

Friday, 25 July 2008 Sophomore Alec Faldermeyer (Minisink Valley, Slate Hill, NY) improved his personal best by nearly nine feet with 209'08" to win the Empire State Games this week. Faldermeyer's throw also set a new meet record and makes him the top underclassman in the nation so far this season. The Scholastic Girls division was not contested at this year's Empire State Games.

Friday, 25 July 2008 While there was little movement on the boys list, both Meaghan McGovern (North Kingstown, RI) and Karen Henning (St. Anthony's, South Huntington, NY) both improved and currently sit in sixth and seventh positions respectively.
